Device and General Information

As a rule, built-in faucets have two main parts - a wall-mounted unit and a decorative cover with control levers. You can buy them separately from each other, which allows you to choose the last element to your own taste. In addition to the main modules, you will have to buy a spout and a watering can.

The most important thing in this design is the main unit responsible for controlling the flow of water. This is often a plastic cylinder, inside of which there is a brass head with 4 threaded holes:

  • Two for supplying cold and hot water.
  • Two - supply mixed liquid to the shower head and the spout of the device.

Important! You must be fully confident in the reliability and quality of the unit, since the period of its maintenance-free operation should be quite long, preferably more than 10 years.

Features of self-installation

In principle, the device of the mixer and its repair, thanks to the designers, boils down only to changing seals. Its mechanism is so simple that it is repaired without any problems. It is worth saying that engineers approached other components of the embedded system with the same attention, however, they focused on ease of installation.

Niche Preparation:

  1. Installation of a flush-mounted mixer involves the manufacture of a small recess in the wall.
  2. In most cases, it is enough to make a niche with a diameter of 120-150 mm, a depth of about 85-110 mm. To do this, use a perforator with a crown on concrete of a suitable diameter.

Pipe laying:

  • Determine the installation location of the spout and shower head.
  • Draw the shortest path to the niche with a pencil.
  • Having taken a puncher with a nozzle for making a strob, hollow out the wall along the indicated lines.

Important! Make sure that you do not cross with other water streams.

  • From the place of the central unit, draw a line for the manufacture of the strobe to the mixer from the main water supply.

Important! If you want to sheathe the bathroom with plasterboard, then the problem of manufacturing a strob disappears by itself. In addition, the issue of the location of the central unit of the mixer is partially solved.

Connection

Pipelines are connected to the mixer in a stationary way - it is better not to use detachable pipe connections on them, otherwise - they will become only an extra element of reliability. In addition, they will no longer be necessary after blocking the main unit with its connections to the walls tightly.

This installation option fully meets all the requirements for connecting pipelines, where the main thing is that all connections must be absolutely reliable.

Important! To seal the threads, it is advisable to stop on the proven method - tow plus paint, but it is better to refuse the FUM tape or plumbing thread in this case.

Pipeline material

When planning to install an integrated mixer, you must understand the importance of the material of which the pipeline is made. The instruction advises to immediately exclude the metal-plastic pipe from the list, since press fittings or threaded elements are used for connection in this case.

It is better to buy a copper or polypropylene pipe, since their joining method is fully consistent with our task, minimizing the number of threaded connections. Although the work in this case is complicated, but as a result you can get a reliable system in terms of leaks.

Spout and watering can

The time has come for the faucet spout and shower head. In this case, everything is standard:

  1. Install angled threaded elements at the ends of the pipelines.
  2. Fix them well in the wall with dowels or mortar.

Important! In the process of fastening threaded adapters, the horizontal should be kept as even as possible, since a crooked conclusion will greatly complicate the process of installing the spout for a bath or sink, as well as a watering can for a shower.

After installing all the hidden elements, it is recommended to take a break until all other work in the bathroom is completed.

The last step is to install a decorative lining with handles, watering cans and spout - this should not be difficult. Just screw the plastic frame to the body of the central unit, and then click on the decorative trim to it.

Important! A shower with a watering can is installed using a special adapter with a fitting having rubber seals. They must be put on it and clamped using a small decorative screw.
